Crumbs in My Bed
At first it was simply a matter of laziness, the young one would get up much too early for me to be bothered with breakfast…yet. Crackers seemed a simple solution, as long as they were eaten on Daddy’s side of the bed. With that I was bought 30 minutes of extra shut-eye before wholesome food was required.
I admit that each night Mr. Good would come to bed I would break in to silent hysterics as he muttered under his breath, sweeping the sheets with his hands. “How did all these crumbs get in the bed?” He would ask. “I have no idea!”
So why when my official employment title is HOMEMAKER and I have control of the bed sheets at all times, crumbs are mysteriously showing up on my side of the bed?
FACT 1: The children have not been in my bed for some weeks now, we’ve been on vacation, they’ve been sleeping in, there is no need for snacking while mommy sleeps
FACT 2: Mr. Good had beenĀ burning midnight oil at his wood-shop, unless he’s been spreading a pocket full of crumbs before climbing in at night, I’m baffled.
The mystery has yet to be solved. But washing my king sized sheets more than once a week is a very unsavory thought.
Good Enough

Are they falling out of your belly button in the dead of night?
EVER LOVING SWEET JUNIPER it’s maddening when you have a crummy bed!
Hmmm…. a mystery! If it was our house, I would blame myself. I tend to eat a snack before bed and I usually make a mess…
You wash your sheets once a week??
Yes ever since the Oprah episode with the dust mites…and my room tends to get really dusty as it is since my mattress is directly on the FLOOR! Don’t get me wrong, there may be a week or two that it doesn’t happen. But then I start to feel all creepy crawly.
Isn’t that what vacuums are for? I mean, no sense in ripping off the frikkin sheets, especially when you will have to put them back on. Ugh. I can’t tell you how bad I hate to make the bed.
What part of CA are you in? I’m in Northern CA, use to live in San Diego.
i know…it’s wood shavings! yes!
I’ve had the same strange situation. I must swipe the gritties
off the bed each and every night. I”m a clean person, so it
made me wonder. I finally used a black cloth as a dust pan
as I swiped off those things. I was afraid they’d be moving indicating mites. But they weren’t. They were like grains of sand only looked like skin?
I hope I’m not shedding. If I am, I’d at least like to see the difference on the weight scale!!!!!!
