We don’t belong to an HOA
I loved my backyard growing up.
We had an acre, and the back half was jungle to my brothers and I.
I don’t remember how long it was before my parents decided to rototill it and start gardening. But before then we had many a long summer day walking through the tall grass.
We would set traps for eachother, hide toys, and ourselves. It was a sad day when the grass disappeared.
My kids are now finding the same magic in our backyard. I stand in the grass now and it comes to my waist, but my children lose themselves in it.
I could watch them for hours, and the smile would never leave my face. Sigh…I love summertime…

Good Enough

That’s the best excuse not to mow that I’ve ever heard. =)
good memories, reminds me of when mom decided to light the whole back yard on fire.
My Grandma would do the same thing… all of the cousins would come and stay with her for a couple of weeks each summer. She would let the grass grow LONG and we would make mazes and birds nests (for ourselves…we were the birds) and play hide and seek and army… oh, it was so fun! Now I am wishing for some long grass!!
Awww, and I always used to feel guilty when we let our grass grow that high.
My babies probably loved it!
I love summertime, too!
Your babies are just beautiful!
