I didn’t smell the bacon

Who gets pulled over for going 27 mph in a 25 mph zone?

I do!

Who has been driving around with an expired license?

I have!

Who almost got arrested and had their car impounded in front of the wee ones, with the five year old in the back seat asking mommy all types of questions like “Is he going to take your car away?” “Am I ever going to get to school?” “How come you’re in trouble?” and all sorts of other questions that leave a mommy guilt ridden?

If you guest me again you’re on a roll.

I can tell you why I put off renewing my license, well I didn’t notice it was about to expire till we already moved, and then I found out in Washington you have to retake the drive test! Who has time for that? Well obviously I thought “not me” and assumes I was above the law. Secretly I always enjoy fighting the man!

Side note, you’d think the first time I was pulled over and got away with a slap on the wrist would have been my wake-up call. I’m such a stubborn cuss.

So now on top of retaking the drive test I have to go to court and prove that I renewed my license.

Why do I do these things to myself?

Oh man - that stinks!! I’ve only been pulled over twice - both times for speeding - but I was REALLY speeding! The one time I was pushing 90 in a 75… bad, I know. I don’t remember what the other one was, but it was too fast. :S So, when are you going to take the test?? I still don’t have my license for CA… and come to think of it… I’m not sure when my Oregon license expires… guess I should look at that, eh?

I think it’s becuase of something about being stubborn and I think the 27 in a 25 thing is crazy. I’ve heard of it happening so many times here though. Maybe I’ll learn my lesson before they nab me too. So, do you wanna get together and practice parallel parking or are you gonna just hope the driving test car is a Lexus?

No way! What a gigantic pain. Good luck! I hope this is all behind you soon. In the meantime, slow down speedy! (Twenty SEVEN mph?! Come on, you’re just asking for trouble!)

Oh boy, sounds like a fun morning!

That sucks about having to re-take the drivers test. Who has time to do that!? If you can drive OK in one state, you can drive OK in another.

    Good luck with everything! :)

I can parallel with the best of them. I used to have to park my Cadillac De Ville in downtown Seattle for school. It trained me for anything.
And I’m with mama when I say yes, if I can drive in another state I can drive in this one. And this state was the one that first issued me a drivers license! We’ll see how things go. I’m hearing rumors that I may not have to re-take the test! So I’ll keep everyone posted.

Oh, honey, I’ve so been there. You’re not the only one. I found out the hard way, it’s a lot easier to keep your license and tags current! Those pesky law-loving cops! ;)
You’re brave to blog about it. I was like, NO ONE CAN EVER KNOW…

P.S. Glad you’ll be with us next week! It’ll be fun to meet you!

We’re such self-destructive creatures, aren’t we? Those Washingtonians are just nutty. Heck, I got a ticket for going 85 in a 60 zone.

Crazy cops. I feel for ya!

Don’t you just have to take the written?

When we moved to WA I was so paranoid I wouldn’t pass, because when we move to CA and I took the test I failed it twice and then finally was triumphant on the 3rd time.

I promise I really can drive- I passed WA on the first time! :)

There’s something to be said about the thrill of driving around with an expired license. For kicks, I like to go at least three months without renewing my plates. I’d highly recommend that one your next time around.

Because my license is expired I may have to take the driving test as well. We’ll see. I’m hearing rumors that I may not have to.

and Amber…that is so my style!

For Shame!!! You should remember that when you live in a country town going two mph over the speed limit is a crime punishable by death!!! Didn’t you ever get stopped in Snoho in highschool? Those country police are brutal. I am glad they didn’t cart away the kiddies in handcuffs. You should have asked me to sit last time I was in town while you took the test. I certainly wouldn’t want you to have your car impounded. Get on that one! Have that lazy little sister of mine watch the kids for you.

p.s. where are the new posts???

oh yeah, and you do have to take the drive test. I had to because of the same thing.
